Halloween Fun Blog Hop: It Came From The Deep…

Welcome to the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew September Blog Hop. This month’s theme is Halloween fun and I had a blast making this card. I was inspired by the idea of Mother Nature’s monster’s, which we had experience with first hand this past week.

It came from the deep…

It was a dark and stormy night! Well a dark and stormy couple of days anyway. Living on the Florida coast has many advantages, no snow, beautiful beaches did I mention the lack of snow? But from June 1st to November 30th every Floridian, whether natural born or northern transplant, becomes an amature meterologist. My television this past week was tuned to The Weather Channel and a Monster that at one point was a Category 5 Hurricane. (that’s only because there isn’t a Category 6) Dorian was predicted (5 days out) to be a direct hit on the Florida Space coast. (Our Home) So the Hubby and I prepared for worst. We boarded up the windows, made sure we had ample supplies of flashlights, batteries, canned goods, water, and of course wine and beer. We battened down the hatches and waited… and waited… and waited. It was a very slow moving storm. Although we were lucky this time around, our hearts go out to those who were affected by this awful storm, the next time we may not be so lucky.

So I channeled my nervous energy, worry and boredom into something more productive and created this card. As I stated before I was inspired by Mother Nature’s more monstrous side.

Magical Birthday Card

Just a quick post to today featuring a birthday card for my friends 30th birthday. Mandi is obsessed with mermaids so the Stampin’ Up! Magical Mermaid stamp set was absolutely perfect for her card.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper for the background. Lately when I am making a card and I don’t have the extra time to ink and sponge a background, I find what I am looking for with a piece of DSP. (Designer Series Paper) The paper is great to stamp on as well as strong for heat embossing and folding for 3D projects. The best part… No Inky Fingers!!!
