Journal Layout

New Product sneak Peek!

Hello friends! I know it’s been a while. I figured it was time to get back to the blog. I will try my best to update monthly. Weekly maybe a little ambitious so I decided to start with an attainable goal.

So usually I would present a card but I decided to shake it up a bit. I wanted to showcase a stamp set from the new StampinUp! 2020-2021 annual catalog but use it in a different way. I am sharing the June monthly layout in my bullet planner that I decorated using the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern stamp set, a variety of green SU! Classic ink pads, and a couple of StampinWrite Markers.

Just bit of background on my quest for an organized life. I have been using some kind of planner on and off for a couple of years now. I started using a regular planner and I didn’t like how confined I was to the structure of it. Then I switched it up to a blank bullet journal and was overwhelmed by the amount of time I had to spend on drawing out calendar boxes and creating monthly, weekly, and daily spreads. By the time I finished setting it up, I was too exhausted to decorate and fill it out.

So down the internet rabbit hole I went, searching for some happy medium between structure and creativity and I finally found it!

Scribbles That Matter B5 Bullet Planner

This planner is for 12 months but the layouts are generic so you can start at any month you want. (March 2020 for me) The paper is a great quality and it minimizes bleed thru. The are blank pages in between the pre-made layouts for anything you want to create. (i.e. Gratitude journal, habit tracker, goal keeping)

Blank layouts waiting for you to decorate and plan!

This is my monthly layout for June 2020

June Bujo Layout
Please forgive my sad attempt at hand lettering!

The technique I used to create texture was inspired by a fellow demonstrator in the UK, The Artful Stamper. I used second and even third generation stamping to get the depth and layers I was looking for. (“Stamping off” is another term as well.) I started with the lightest color, Soft Sea Foam, and stamped speckles all over the pages. Then I used a different shade of green for each leaf and to finish up I stamped some more speckles in Mossy Meadow fill in the gaps. The Forever Fern stamp set is perfect for layering and the detail of the Distinktive stamps are beautiful. (Yes I know it’s Distinctive, check out page #114 of the new catalog coming 06/03/2020.)

I hope you liked my layout for June. In 10 days it goes live and if you are interested in any of the products that I used please click any of the pictures below. You can purchase them on June 3rd.
