A Tip for getting the most out of your DSP!

Stampin Up! has gorgeous DSP! (Designer Series Paper) It can be used in so many ways! In my previous post I stamped on a piece of DSP from the SU! See a Silhouette pack and created a sunset background for a card. Not just for card making and scrapbooking, DSP can be used for Home Decor pieces, 3D projects, gift boxes and beautiful wrappings. Honestly there are way too many uses to list here and a search can lead you down a Pinterest rabbit hole for hours. But my one constant dilemma is what to do with my leftover DSP scraps. Everyone has it, that bucket/drawer or container filled to the brim with small odd shaped pieces of paper. It is just way too pretty to throw away. So this is one of my solutions to put a dent into that horde. I stamp on it and punch or die cut it out.

My card today was inspired by this sketch from Cecile the hostess this week at:

  • I stamped the background on a 4″x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock with Balmy Blue ink using a stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Love What You Do stamp set.
  • The Balloon, birds, basket and sentiment were from the Stampin’ Up! Above the Clouds stamp set and were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Some leftover scraps of the Stampin’ Up! Bird Ballad DSP were perfect to use for a hot air balloon.
  • I used the SU! Stitched Nested Labels dies to get the dotted lines across the background and the SU! Stitched Rectangle dies for the stitched frame.
  • I finished the card by glueing the front panel onto a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and then attaching that onto a Whisper White Card base. I added three sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed sequins pack to add a tiny bit of sparkle.

I hope this helps you put a little dent in your DSP scraps! Comment below and if you want to share a helpful tip of your own.
